In a world full of challenges, where the pursuit of positive change is a difficult journey, there are extraordinary individuals who rise above the ordinary to become beacons of hope and transformation. One such inspiration was Ujwal Thapa, a mystifying personality whose path in life has been defined by unwavering commitment to creating a better society for all.
It gives us immense pleasure to share that we are making a documentary film that will be a historical media documentation of Ujwal Thapa’s life chronology. The film will be a portrayal of his journey from childhood to his latter transitions into entrepreneurship, social justice activism, political movement, and most importantly it will include unknown facts about him and the reality he lived in.
Why Documentary?
This documentary aspires to inspire audiences worldwide, especially the youths, encouraging them to embrace their own potential as agents of change and install a sense of collective responsibility towards building a more equitable and just world. The objectives of the documentary are –
- Showcase in a visually descriptive manner the life of Ujwal Thapa and his efforts to inspire a movement of change.
- Emphasize the importance of alternative politics and its historical relevance in the present political scenario.
- Communicate the ideas and values advocated by Ujwal Thapa and the Bibeksheel movement
- Transfer Ujwal’s thoughts and Bibeksheel values to provoke the future generation.
- Serve as a valuable asset for the Ujwal Thapa Foundation to practice and promote the values he embodied.
- Act as an effective medium to reach a larger audience, inspiring people who believe in change and want to contribute to nation-building efforts
We have completed the pre-production phase which includes structure and theme selection, script writing for the documentary. We have now entered the initial phase of production following the agreement signed between Dream Wizard Company and the Ujwal Thapa Foundation on Sunday, 11th August 2024. Currently, the filmmakers are actively engaged in screen play and storyboard development. This pivotal step marks the beginning of an exciting journey as we work collaboratively to bring Ujwal Thapa’s story to life through the art of filmmaking. The progress made in script writing sets the foundation for the forthcoming stages of production, underscoring our dedication to capturing and preserving the essence of Ujwal Thapa’s impactful contributions.
We wanted to update you on the progress of the documentary on Ujwal Thapa and our fundraising campaign for it. Out of the total production cost, we have secured 42.4% of the cost through individual donations, corporate sponsorships, and fundraising initiatives. We have completed the pre-production and the production phase has started.
